Stagecoach North East provides local bus services in Newcastle, Sunderland, Hartlepool and the surrounding area. With a fleet of 431 buses, they offer a safe and reliable service, taking passengers on over 59 million journeys in 2017.
In early 2017, Stagecoach North East launched its X24 inter-urban service between Newcastle and Sunderland. We tailored a campaign starting with print and digital ads in the Sunderland Echo print and online versions to first raise awareness, followed by webpage takeovers on the Sunderland Echo website.
To date, the webpage takeovers have driven 248 clicks to the Stagecoach website. Stagecoach North East saw passenger growth on the X24 service 34% year-on-year, which facilitated the launch of the X24A service between Newcastle and Doxford Park.
